Review of Garnier Olia

I am a BzzAgent and received a mission to test and review Garnier Olia hair color. After receiving the coupon I went to Walgreen’s to see what colors they had. I am NOT fond of dying my hair, so I wanted to really pick out a color that would not be too drastic of a change.  I am pretty satisfied with the color of my hair. It is brown with gold highlights that come naturally in the summer. I have in the past had professional highlights done, but do not do it any more because it is just too much maintenance. I am too busy to worry about my hair!

Anyway, I was a bit disappointed in the color choices, which was probably the fault of Walgreen’s, as after the fact I found that Garnier DOES sell shades closer to my color. They only had t was either black, red or blonde. I did NOT want black and I did NOT want blonde. So it had to be the red.

I’ve stuck to mostly brown shades for the past couple of years and wanted a change. Most of my adult life, I’ve used either reddish tint or bolder rusty reds, so it seemed like a fun idea to go back to that for a while. Honestly, it was a little challenging to pick a shade I wanted to try because my experience with box color “light” and “medium” seems different from the example photos on Olia boxes. The brown and red shades look darker than what I would call “light,” for example.

At Walmart, there were 14 of the 24 Olia shades in stock, which narrowed down my choice. Since I was fearful of trying any light colors in case they were too light for me, a medium was what I picked to try, 5.5 Medium Mahogany.

The final review – I HATED IT! The most horrendous color… period.

Review L’Oréal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream

I got the opportunity from SheSpeaks once again to recieve, test and and review a product, this time it was L’Oréal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream. I have to say as a person who does NOT use foundation ever, or any makeup very often at all, I was excited to see exactly how this would effect my skin.

Unfortunately, I am very unpleased with this product. First, the tone made my face look washed out (I took photos, but they look awful, so I am not sharing), and dry. It did not help with the look of my skin at all 🙁 It was very thin, and did not cover very easily.

Overall, I would not purchase this product for myself, and would only recommend it for someone who did not need much coverage of blemishes or skin issues, and for someone who did not require a great deal of hydration to their skin.

Torani Flavored Syrups – Spice Up Your Java!

For the second time as part of the SheSpeaks Blogger Program I received 2 bottles of Torani Flavored Syrups to try and review. I was a little disappointed when I opened the package because the flavors that I received are the same as the two I received last year, Peppermint and Salted Caramel.

My husband on the other hand was elated to get the Peppermint again, and has used it in his morning coffee daily since receiving it – in fact after a weekend visit with family here in my home, it was misplaced and both him and my stepdaughter were a bit miffed thinking it was gone, LOL. They were quite relieved when I found it under the cabinet with the baking supplies!

Torani offers over 120 Regular and Sugar Free Flavored Syrups which are the perfect compliment many of your your favorite drinks – from Coffee to Espresso, from Smoothies to  Teas, the possibilities are about endless on things you can make. You can also use Torani Flavored Syrups in your baking recipes – and Torani has tons of great recipes on it’s site.

I am happy that I got to try this out again – just wished I could have tried a few different kinds – think I may have to order the Gingerbread one soon!
